Querétaro Wine Country and the Cheese and Wine Route, Mexico
Querétaro's vineyards grow at about 6,560 ft (2,000 m), with sharp swings between day and night. The state is the main producer of sparkling wine in Mexico, and its wine route is also its cheese route, known as the Ruta del Arte, Queso y Vino (the Art, Cheese and Wine Route).
This guide groups the wineries and places by town and valley. Many are around Tequisquiapan, Ezequiel Montes, and Bernal, with others in Colón, Cadereyta, San Juan del Río, El Marqués, and Huimilpan. Many houses hold their own vendimia, the harvest festival, in summer.
