Fiesta Americana Hacienda Galindo

The place

The main compound of this hacienda is in Galindo, on the road to Amealco, on the outskirts of San Juan del Río, and today operates as the Fiesta Americana Hacienda Galindo. Tradition links the estate to Hernán Cortés and La Malinche, which is also the name of its presidential suite, with a private pool. The rooms run from the Superior, with a king bed or two doubles, to the Master Gobernador and the Junior Suite Galindo, with a jacuzzi, and some accept pets. There is a spa with temazcal (a traditional steam bath), sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, a heated outdoor pool, padel, pickleball, tennis, soccer, and volleyball courts, horseback rides, bicycle rental, and a farm on the grounds. At the table, La Distral serves Mexican and international cooking, the Château Galindo cellar offers Italian cooking and small bites, and on Sundays there is brunch on the Los Laureles patio. The Château Galindo vineyard is next to the main compound. On Saturdays there are guided tours of the harvest and fermentation, with a tasting of rosé, white, and sparkling wine, and tastings at 3:30 and 5 p.m. in the cellar of the Italian restaurant. The wines are made in collaboration with Cava 57, of San Juan del Río, and are sold only at the hacienda.
