The house

Casa Náufrago explains its name with the idea of arriving somewhere unexpected, and in the Valle de Parras a green vineyard surrounded by desert is exactly that. The founding family bought a plot of about 250 acres (100 hectares) in 2017, of which about 100 acres (40 hectares) are now in vines.

The house had barely begun selling its wines when, at the 2025 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, it won four gold medals and one silver with reds from the 2021 and 2022 vintages. The golds went to the 2022 Malbec, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon and to the 2021 Blend, and the silver to the 2021 Shiraz. Technical direction is in the hands of the winemaker Francisco Rodríguez.

The vineyard grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, which the house calls Shiraz, and Chardonnay. They go into varietals, a red blend, and a Shiraz rosé.

It can be visited Thursday through Sunday and always by reservation. A tractor takes visitors among the vines while the winemaking and each variety are explained, followed by a tasting guided by the sommelier with a charcuterie board. Those who want to stay can add a four-course menu on the vineyard terraces. The tasting lasts an hour, the lunch another, and the two together about two and a half hours, for groups of up to 22 people.

The wines

Mostly varietal reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Shiraz and a red blend, the same ones it has entered in competitions. The range is rounded out by a Chardonnay and a Shiraz rosé.
