The house
The R of the Revuelta surname opens the names of almost all its wines: La Resiliencia, La Recompensa, La Reflexión. Even the logo, inspired by a coat of arms, points to the family's origin. It all started in 2015, with Tempranillo and Merlot planted on the semidesert plains of Tequisquiapan.
La Resiliencia, which the house associates with those beginnings, is a Tempranillo and was the first label. With the Merlot the house makes La Recompensa, a rosé, and a Merlot Gran Reserva, and La Reflexión, a sparkling wine, rounds out the range. The vineyard is small and has a country restaurant, fireplaces, and a view of the hills.
The cooking comes from the house's heritage, a country, Spanish, and Mexican mix that the family learned from the migrations of the 20th century, and it is served in multi-course menus with the reds, the rosé, and the sparkling wine. Chef José Luis Revuelta took part in the first season of MasterChef México. The house also sells its wines and gourmet products in an online shop.
You get there by Highway 200, enter through Fuentezuelas, walk the vineyard, and move on to the table, with the wines served a few steps from where the grapes grow. The table is booked ahead, and alcohol is sold only to people over 18.
