The house

Hacienda Montero sets out to tell the story of Baja California's identity through wine. In Guadalupe Valley (Valle de Guadalupe) it brings together a winery, a boutique hotel, and a restaurant, led by winemaker Ariel Alejandro Lizárraga Montero, who signs nearly all the wines: reds of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Nebbiolo. The house says it is careful with water and pesticide use in the vineyard.

Its labels carry names of their own, such as Galante, Migale, Coty, Valencia 78, Ferreiro 57, and the Nebbiolo MX. In 2024, the 2020 Galante won silver at the International Awards Virtus in Lisbon. You can sleep, eat, and taste without leaving the property, with guided red wine tastings that are booked on the house's website, just like the rooms.
