The house
In Samalayuca, in the municipality of Juárez, Chihuahua, the soil is almost pure sand, 97 percent according to the house, and there Rosa de Arena planted its first Tempranillo in 2017, on less than half a hectare (about an acre). The first wine came out in 2018, and by 2021 the vineyard had grown to 2.5 hectares (about 6 acres), with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Nero d'Avola, and Merlot.
Today it makes a Tempranillo and V&E, a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, both off-dry. Its wines are sold in Ciudad Juárez and in Galeana, and in July 2026 the house took part in the Vendimia La Victoria in Casas Grandes.
