The house
San Quintín was tomato, raspberry, and strawberry country before anyone talked about wine, and the Becerra family grew them organically. Within some 620 acres (250 hectares) of holdings sat an unplanted hill. The organic certifiers asked them to put it to some use, and they planted vines. From that practical decision came, in 2017, Vinícola de Becerra.
The first vineyard is in Vicente Guerrero and is managed under the same organic certification as the rest of the ranch. In 2018 came the first wines, made at the family's winery in the same town: a red and a rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that debuted the Prestigio de Becerra label. In 2019 the house had already taken its wines to the Pabellón del Vino (wine pavilion) in Ensenada.
The line is short, young, and called Prestigio de Becerra. The red is half Cabernet Sauvignon and half Merlot, the rosé 75% and 25%, and the white is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, from grapes the family grows in the valley.
Baja California Travel's 2026 editorial guide includes it on the San Quintín wine route, on the road south of Ensenada. The tasting room, in Vicente Guerrero, receives visitors, but the hours are not published by an official source. Write to them on social media before you set out.
