The house

Cava Zaragoza is the label Flavio Zaragoza, born in Guadalupe Valley, wanted to carry the mark of his homeland. He built it in the backyard of his own house, in the valley's main town, so that every bottle would keep that intimate, nostalgic feel, and the winery dates its founding to 2021. That home scale, a backyard cellar, is what sets it apart.

It started with four founding labels: a 2017 Reserva of Syrah and Grenache, a 2019 Gran Reserva of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, a white blend, and a young rosé. Today its collection numbers nine wines in three lines, Cava Zaragoza, Cagrete, and Don Flavio, with single-variety Malbec, Tempranillo, and Cabernet Sauvignon, red blends, a Grenache rosé, and a white of Sauvignon Blanc with Chardonnay. The house says its aim has always been the same: wines that invite people into the world of wine.

Among them, the house highlights three it presents as recognized in Revista Cava's 2025 Top 99 competition: the 2023 Malbec, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon with Grenache, and the 2023 Cagrete Blend.

Visits are by reservation only, Friday through Sunday. The guided tour covers the vineyard and the production process and ends with a tasting of its labels. The winery has also opened private weekend cabins near the vineyard and rents outdoor spaces for private events.
