The house
Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026Bothë was the Otomi name of Villa Progreso and means place between hills. Today it also names a winery in the center of the town, in the municipality of Ezequiel Montes, Querétaro, run by winemaker José Luis Reséndiz and his family. The wine is made mostly from Salvador, and over time the house added white grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah for its blends.
The labels carry names in native languages: Obxï in Otomi, Acacholli in Nahuatl, and Urí in Rarámuri. Visits include a tasting and a walk through the winery, which has a terrace with a view of the San Miguel Arcángel church. Every summer the house celebrates its vendimia, the grape harvest.
