The place
Pan e Vino is a Tijuana wine bar with a list built around Baja California labels. The tables sit under a tree, and the house wine comes to the table in a carafe. The kitchen follows the name: pizzas, flatbreads, salads, and cheese boards to go with the glass. This is a place for long conversation more than a quick stop, and its selection makes it a handy way to meet producers from the valley before you visit them. Listings describe the mood as relaxed. In 2023 the Escuela Mexicana de Sommeliers held one of its classes here, a sign that the room doubles as a place to study wine. It is in Tijuana, about 68 miles (109 km) from Guadalupe Valley, which makes it an easy stop before or after the drive. It is open Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays, and can be reached by phone.
