The place

Tanina opened in September 2025 in the Cacho neighborhood of Tijuana, in a space that previously held a similar concept. Two friends created it as a wine bar and enoteca for exploring labels from different regions, from the wineries of Baja California and from other countries. The list offers wine by the glass and a guided selection: the staff ask what each person likes and make suggestions, with no experience or formality required. It is also a point of sale for Bodegas F. Rubio, the winery in El Porvenir, in Guadalupe Valley (Valle de Guadalupe), according to that house's listing. The mood is intimate, set up for asking questions and trying things. The selection mixes classic labels with less conventional ones, so a first-timer can taste without feeling out of place in an elitist space. It is at 2251 Avenida Guanajuato, in the colonia Madero, which is known as Cacho. Its hours are not confirmed, so the best move is to message the bar on Instagram before going.
