The house
At San Lucas, a polo field and an equestrian club share the land with vines, olive groves, and lavender fields. It is at km 6.2 of the highway to Querétaro, next to San Miguel de Allende, and is one of the La Santísima Trinidad group's residential developments with a vineyard.
The group bottles under three brands, La Santísima Trinidad, San Lucas, and Barrica de Fuego. Under the estate's name comes a Pinot Noir sparkling wine. Barrica de Fuego brings a broader line, with a Sauvignon Blanc, a white sparkling wine, and a field-blend red that the house presents as the middle brother of its family of labels and recommends with cheeses, cold cuts, and smoked foods.
Tours leave at set times every day, pass through the vineyard and the winery before the tasting, and can add olive oil and a cheese board. On Fridays and Saturdays there are afternoon departures too. The estate also offers lavender and olive workshops, polo lessons with its own horses and instructors, tennis, and padel.
There is a 14-room boutique hotel facing the vineyard, and the cooking is Mediterranean. The estate also hosts events. Tastings and tours are booked ahead.
