The house
Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026The Velasco Andrade family's house in San Antonio de las Minas was built rustic, with the silhouette of a Franciscan mission, a nod to the friars who brought the vine to the peninsula. Raúl Velasco planted the vineyard in 2008 at Rancho Velasco, and the family keeps the winery at an artisan scale, with olive grove, vineyard, and cellar on the same land.
Red wine rules here. Cabernet Franc is the grape the house is most identified with, and alongside it they work with Nebbiolo, Syrah, and Bordeaux-style blends. The family itself leads the tastings and the cellar tours, and you confirm the hours by messaging them on social media.
