The house
Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026Casa Fronda began in 2021 in Villa de Reyes, San Luis Potosí, in the Valle de San Francisco, and is financed by a community of 999 members. That year the first 100 Malbec vines were planted under the guidance of winemaker Gustavo Llamas, who is still with the house. Its first wine was a limited-edition rosé, 334 bottles made by six graduates of the Escuela Fronda.
The winery is at the entrance to Ciudad Maderas and receives visitors by reservation, with walks through the vineyard, the cellar, and the gardens, tastings in its tasting room, and cultural events. Its 2025 vendimia (grape harvest festival) was on August 30. The valley was wine country in the 18th and 19th centuries, with haciendas such as Bledos, Gogorrón, and Calderón.
