The house
An Italian volcano gives this Parras winery its name. Nicolás Nicolielli Caruso, a winemaker from Naples, founded it in 1891 using the techniques of the winegrowers on the slopes of Vesuvius. In 1935 it was taken over by Nicolás Milonás, a Greek winemaker from Kimi, who added methods from the vineyards of the Aegean and left his surname on one of the wines.
More than a century later, the house still makes fortified and table wines in the traditional way, and it is known for its altar wines and for a wine of grape and walnut. Its shop opens every day on Calle Francisco I. Madero, at the corner of Viesca, in the historic center of Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila.
