The house
Aborigen is the D'Acosta family's experimental winery, founded in 2000 in San Antonio de las Minas, at the entrance to Guadalupe Valley. It was born as Baja California was beginning to stand out as Mexico's wine region, with a clear idea: to take wine out of traditional settings, both in how it is conceived and in how it is made.
Today it is run by Lucas D'Acosta, son of Hugo D'Acosta, the winemaker behind Casa de Piedra, and its work seeks to recover the farming craft of wine, on a human scale. Its line includes Incognito Red, a blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is not open to the public: tastings are arranged by appointment.
