The house
At ATP, wine is played like a chess game. The family that founded the winery in 2010 christened its labels with chess moves and pieces: Jaque Mate (checkmate), Caballo del Rey (King's Knight), and Caballo de Dama (Queen's Knight). Two of them have won at the international Ensenada Tierra del Vino competition, Jaque Mate with gold in 2017 and Caballo del Rey with silver in 2014.
The tasting room is in San Antonio de las Minas, at the entrance to Guadalupe Valley, and the scale is small. Visitors report that the tasting comes with bread and cheese, that whoever pours explains how each wine is made, and that there is a board where you can stay and play a game.
