The place
Sartoria means tailor's shop in Italian, the workshop where clothes are cut and sewn by hand, and with that idea this modern osteria at Orizaba 42, in Roma Norte, works. The cooking is contemporary Italian and is built from seasonal produce. The pasta is made by hand every day and mixed with Mexican ingredients such as chinampa beets (from the traditional raised farm plots of Mexico City) and cerdo pelón (the Mexican hairless pig). At the helm is an Italian chef trained in kitchens in Italy, Barcelona, London, and New York. It opens at 1 p.m. and serves until night.
