The place
EMCEBAR teaches how to taste Mexican wine. Its tasting course starts from zero. You learn the steps of a tasting, recognize the aromas and flavors of a red, a white or a rosé, and review the history of national wines and how to pair them. The syllabus includes an evaluation exercise and the vocabulary of wine. For one person there is a two-and-a-half-hour online course, in videos that can be watched as many times as you like, plus an introduction to the world of wine and a course on wine cocktails. Groups of three or more have their own tasting section, and companies can request a tasting at their office or at a place they choose, from 45 minutes to 3 hours, with two to four national or international wines. Besides wine, the school teaches barista skills, mixology, and cooking. Its main location is at Medellín 233, in Roma Sur, and it has others in Puebla and Guadalajara.
