The place
Granate cooks with a Spanish accent and touches of its own a few blocks from the Paseo de la Reforma, at Río Tigris 44. The menu has croquettes, octopus, squid, jocoque with olives and pita bread, a board of five cheeses with apple compote and honey, fried crab and shrimp on mushrooms. The portions are generous, and on weekends there is paella. The wine selection covers whites, reds, rosés, and naturals, as well as vermouth. The sommelier recommends according to the dish, with labels such as a white from Bierzo, an oaked chardonnay or an orange wine from Querétaro, and about once a month there is a tasting or a collaboration with a brand. The door opens at 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, and closes at midnight.
