The house

On the banks of the Santa Isabel River, near Chihuahua City, the El Molino Don Tomás vineyard covers about 30 acres (12 hectares) planted in 2019. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Muscat, Chenin Blanc, and Alicante grow there, on an estate that also holds a winery, a restaurant, and cabins.

The wines have names of their own. Luna is the Cabernet Sauvignon, Emilia the Merlot, and Arcadia an equal blend of two varieties. The Las Tres Fortunas collection includes the Estrella rosé, the Luna red, and the Sol white, with names taken from the Chihuahua sky, and several labels have debuted at the harvest festival.

The visit changes with the seasons. From March to November the tour goes through the vines, the winery, and the greenhouse, with explanations at each stop. From November to February comes the pairing tasting, led by the winemaker Irwin Cadena, with three glasses of Las Tres Fortunas and three tapas. Both are offered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The harvest festival mixes grapes with the countryside, with grape stomping, sommelier-led tastings, pairings, a charreada (a Mexican rodeo), workshops, and live music. The fourth edition was on August 2, 2025, and the fifth, under the name Gran Reserva, was announced for August 1, 2026. The restaurant El Granero serves tapas, pizzas, steaks, and cocktails, and the two cabins among the vines, Merlot and Cabernet, for two and four guests, include breakfast.
