Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026A plaque with the year 1881 on the adobe facade gives this winery its name. The building was once a chile-drying shed on the Santa Ana hacienda, in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez. About 20 minutes from downtown San Luis Potosí, the land became a vineyard in 2007 and has produced wine since 2012, from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Grenache. Local press names it as the site of the state's first grape harvest festival.
Visits are by appointment and include a walk through the vineyard and the winery, with a tasting of its wines. The place also hosts weddings and other events, and in harvest season it holds its own vendimia (the grape harvest festival), which in 2025 was on the calendar of San Luis Potosí wine festivals.
