About this event
Noche de Catrinas (Night of the Catrinas) is the Day of the Dead evening of the Comité Provino Baja California. Its fifth edition is on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7 p.m., in the Sala de Tintos (Red Wine Room) of Bodegas de Santo Tomás, in Ensenada.
Provino's program includes a mega altar in memory of figures of Baja California winegrowing and winemaking, a tasting of more than fifty wine labels, traditional Mexican food, live music, and dancing. Dressing up as a catrín or catrina (an elegantly dressed skeleton figure) is recommended. It is for adults only and no pets are allowed.
Other sources give different details: a wineries calendar places it at the Museo de la Vid y el Vino in Guadalupe Valley (Valle de Guadalupe). What Provino publishes takes precedence here, and it puts the evening in Santo Tomás. The Tarde de Ofrendas (Offerings Afternoon) that Provino lists on its page, as part of last year's evening, has no date for 2026.
