The house
Three gold medals and one silver came to Vinos Santa Clara from the 2025 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. One of the golds went to Zonia, its first white, which had come out only in 2024. It is a family business of limited production, with grapes from Chihuahua.
It began as a hobby of wine enthusiasts. The first vines were planted in 2013 in two valleys, Santa Clara, in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, which gave the house its name, and San Andrés, in Riva Palacio. The house describes its land as high and fertile, with nights that turn very cold after mild days.
The wines
Limited-production wines, all from the grapes of its two valleys, in which the house combines classic processes with newer techniques. It makes single-grape reds such as Basalto (Merlot) and Pulso (Cabernet Sauvignon), blends such as Agnus, and, since 2024, the white Zonia.
