Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026More than three generations of the Vázquez family have lived in Valle de los Olivos, in the municipality of Rosario and about 45 minutes from Parral, Chihuahua, and the ranch now called Casa Vazqueño carries that continuity. Olive and walnut trees grow among the rows of vines, cattle graze nearby, and the land supplies the wine, the nuts, and the meat.
At the restaurant Elvira, open Friday through Sunday, the kitchen cooks with what the ranch produces. There are vineyard tours, tastings, art and wine workshops, and cabins among the vines with private hot tubs. The house celebrates its harvest every year, and at the second one, in August 2026, it announced the opening of its new winery.
