The place
Santulan takes its name from a Hindi word that means balance, and the building seeks it with a long, single-story layout facing the hills. It is at Rancho San Marcos, inside Ejido El Porvenir, in Guadalupe Valley, and admits only adults. The pace is slow, there are no children, and the place is meant for couples. Breakfast, American or vegetarian, is part of the stay. There are a garden, a terrace, wifi, and parking, and massages by appointment and yoga classes are on offer. Rooms have private baths, air conditioning, and rain showers, opening onto the terrace and the garden. Rancho San Marcos is a few minutes on foot from the Vena Cava winery, according to one listing, so a first tasting can be a stroll between the ranch and the vineyard. Questions and reservations are handled by phone or through its Instagram and Facebook accounts.
