The place

Las Orquídeas began in 2016 as a family business beside Highway 3, at kilometer 86.5, on the lane that gives it its name. Its roomy brick cabins are surrounded by a garden of orchids and other botanical species. Booking platforms count four. Each cabin has a valley view, air conditioning and a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and kettle, plus a balcony or a patio with furniture. There is a grill, a picnic area and luggage storage, wifi and free parking. The website's motto is Vive la naturaleza como debe ser, which means live nature the way it should be. Listings place the wineries Viñas de Garza and El Pinar de 3 Mujeres nearby, a bit over half a mile (just over 1 km) away. You book at either of two phone numbers or through the website, which has little information. It is about 71 miles (114 km) from the Tijuana airport, according to the listings, and it serves couples who want an easy arrival from the highway.
