The place
Deckman's en el Mogor cooks on the grounds of the Mogor Badán winery, at the km 85.5 marker of the Tecate to Ensenada highway, in San Antonio de las Minas. Its site sums up the idea in a short phrase: bring the table to the farm. The restaurant is named for chef Drew Deckman. The Michelin Guide Mexico 2026 recommends it and lets it keep its Green Star, the guide's distinction for sustainable cooking. That year, other Baja California restaurants with the same recognition were Conchas de Piedra, Lunario, and Olivea Farm To Table, and Damiana received it for the first time. It is open Thursday to Monday, from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The house lists two phone numbers, one Mexican and one for calls from the United States. About a mile (1.5 km) farther on, at marker 87, is the hotel and winery Surya, also in San Antonio de las Minas.
