The place
Plonk has a terrace on the sidewalk in the Hipódromo neighborhood, in Condesa, with a big tree and a bar that looks into the open kitchen. Lunch is served at midday, and people sit outside or look for a small table indoors. The menu mixes flavors from Asia and Mexico, with dishes such as a green curry with local fish and a smoked-fish tamal with morita chile, almonds, and fried onion. The wine list leans toward the Old World and low intervention, and a flight of five half glasses runs from the cleanest styles to the strangest.
