The house
Laura Zamora started at Bodegas de Santo Tomás as a lab technician and stayed 38 years, rising to run its production. Casa Zamora grew out of a consulting job she was paid for in grapes. She made her first wine from that fruit in 2017, then made the winery official in 2019 with a partner. It sits in Ejido Ajusco, in Ensenada.
Her reds and her rosé come from grapes grown in the Santo Tomás, San Vicente, and La Grulla valleys. The lineup has a white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Palomino, a Merlot rosé, a Tempranillo with six months in barrel, a Syrah with fifteen, and a Barbera with twelve, all three reds in French oak. We have not yet confirmed whether it takes visitors.
