The house
The family of Humberto Vázquez comes from Puebla and says so on the label. Its wines are called 5 de Mayo, Fuerte de Loreto, and Fuerte de Guadalupe, names from the history of Puebla, and the winery, opened in 2014 on the main street of Francisco Zarco, works with grapes from Guadalupe Valley (Valle de Guadalupe). Humberto's children, María and Humberto, turned his love of wine into a trade.
It is a small house. According to the local press it makes between 10,000 and 12,000 bottles a year, its Nebbiolo reds spend twelve months in new barrels, and it is one of the few wineries in the valley with an orange wine. The press describes an underground cellar for private tastings and vineyard tours. It is best to confirm hours and reservations by phone or on its social media.
