The house
Editorial review · reviewed on October 11, 2026Bichi means naked in Sonoran Spanish, and the name explains the house: wines without makeup. Noel and Jair Téllez started in 2014 in Tecate with the idea of bringing old, nearly abandoned vineyards back to life and of working with criolla grapes instead of the international varieties that dominate Mexican wine.
Noel makes the wines. The grapes are picked by hand and ferment with native yeasts in concrete jars. La Santa is a light red from Rosa del Perú, a criolla grape also known as Black Muscat, and No Sapiens comes from a vineyard planted with a grape that has not yet been identified, according to its importer. We found no confirmed information on visits.
